Dad is home from the hospital. I don’t know how he’s doing and have not visited him yet owing to a cold I picked up somewhere. I really don’t want to get him sick. Things are gloomy enough as it is, particularly since today is the seventh anniversary of my mom’s death.

Another visit to the hospital

Saw Dad today (Monday). He seemed to be feeling better today and was very sharp. We talked for almost an hour.

I called to check on Dad’s status this morning (Friday) and was pleasantly surprised to learn that he was no longer in the CVICU. He’s been moved into another room, one with a phone, so I was able to speak directly with him. His voice is still not as strong as I am [...]

My dad is still in the CVICU. We saw him around 11:30 am today (Thursday).

Long update re: Dad

Lil and I went and saw Dad today (Wednesday) at the hospital. We were there around noon, while he was awaiting the results of x-rays to see how everything looks. Assuming all is right with the x-rays, he should be moved out of the CVICU sometime today.

Dad’s status

I just spoke with my sister-in-law, who is at the hospital with my brother. Dad just came out of surgery and is still comatose, but apparently the seven+ hour operation “went well.” He had a quadruple bypass. I don’t know where they harvested the grafts from.
