Grr. Neighbors are having a backyard election night party with lots of beer, guffawing, and foul words. Wonder who they voted for? :/
edited to add — Well, they quieted down after the results were announced, muttered some dismayed obscenities, and slunk back inside. For this, I am thankful.

At this time of year, can anything good happen? Dad’s in the hospital, set for quad. bypass Sunday or Monday. Things are rather bleak.

Brian picked up some poison bait today for the swarm of carpenter ants which showed up this morning (yes, uniquely horrifying just about sums it up). I was having SUCH a good morning until then.
I hate pesticides.
But they’re dying already. I’d like to think they’ll be completely obliterated by Monday. I doubt [...]
