You may remember my rants last year about image copyright/license violations and the importance of giving credit for images. The issue came up several times on this blog, most notably in More on plagiarism and copyright, Image Theft, and Free Publicity .
I was very surprised to finally see this posted at the Red Dragon Inn by admin Xenograg on October 1:
We have added fields for giving proper credit for the art and/or photos used for a character’s avatar and portrait.
Please take a few minutes and update your profile and give credit where it is due.

Are the fields mandatory? It will be interesting to see how often they are used.
They are not mandatory fields, but so far I am seeing a promising acceptance of its use. Are they all doing this? Well, no, but how many of the SNs there are truly “active”? Hard to say. Perhaps leading by example will help. I haven’t checked, but it’d be nice if all the Admins and RDIs used it.
