Hot hot hot!

It’s been unpleasantly hot for several days. I could wax poetic and claim the back yard has been burnished golden by the sun, but really it’s just roasted, wilted and parched — except for the blackberry brambles and grape vines, which are green and thriving.

This weekend, averaging around a muggy 110+ outside with a nice collection of clouds, the A/C really struggled to keep up. We swapped out the filter and set up fans throughout the house. Ultimately we could only keep the house at a balmy 85 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s far too hot for inside!

And there’s not much respite until long after the sun sinks below the horizon. . . like around 3:00 A.M.

I don’t know how you desert dwellers tolerate it!

So. Running the A/C day and night. I’ve been line drying all of the laundry, but even with that I am a little nervous about this month’s electricity bill. I need to find a more energy efficient place to live.
