Lil treated me to an early birthday present and all sneaky-like upgraded my LotRO account, so now I have Mines of Moria. I was very confused when this happened (“bwah? why do you want me to log out and log back in? it’s too early for this crap!”). Then I was very surprised.
It’s nice to be spoiled once in a while. I wish I could do the same for her. All I can do is cook.
My debt is slowly decreasing; I should be completely debt free in four and a half years. My car will be paid off in July and my student loan should be paid off by the end of next year, if not before then. We switched our auto and renter’s insurance policies from Mercury to Farmers and saved about $800. We actually have more coverage now on the renter’s policy! I’m making more meals from scratch, which seems to save money (about $150/month?) although invariably requires more time.
Less clutter, less stuff is always good. It’s too easy to accumulate meaningless possessions. Brian has undertaken the task of cleaning out the back room to set up a home gym. I have not been exercising as much as I want to, but I’m increasing the amount of time I walk every day. I’ve had less abdominal pain in the last two weeks than I’ve had at any point in time in the last three years, so probiotics seem to be helping with all aspects of ulcerative colitis.
I haven’t been writing much at all. This bothers me. Between Dad being in the hospital, the anniversary of my mom’s death, and getting a cold, I have had a hell of a time trying to focus the last three weeks. I have a couple of very short stories (1000-5000 words) in various stages of completion, but they need a lot of polishing. I hope to still be able to do some work on Lumen-related storylines, and I have some scant ideas for Dragon’s Mark RP. I also started working with Poser again and realized I’ve forgotten almost everything I’d learned.
I saw a Leonid meteor while stopped in traffic Tuesday night. This was the first shooting star I’ve ever seen in almost 34 years! I’ve sat up to watch the Perseids before many times and have always blinked or glanced away or fallen asleep at precisely the worst moment. The meteor took its time to travel across the sky, fireball burning a brilliant, sparking street-light sized streak until it finally flared out in a burst of green and white.

Your cooking > lewt. Got it?!
