When it comes to spam on 2phatgeeks, I have my word press set up to automatically moderate the first post of a user WP doesn’t recognize.

If I approve it, WP will automatically allow posts through done by that user name.

For instance, the first time you commented at Eve, it was caught by WordPress and put into “comments awaiting moderation.” Once I approved it, I didn’t have to anymore–but this is how I’ve been able to catch every bit of spam so far ::Knocks on wood:: for 2phatgeeks.

I’ve also got spam keywords set up, like any post using “viagra, pharmacy, free porn” are caught and put into moderation.

As for layouts, you know I’m gonna come by an toot Blog Oh! Blog’s horn, right? I’m not getting paid for it or anything, but, I really do like the blog designs he makes.

As for side bar widgets, I am actually not using one for the ad banners, and am using the widget provided with NextGen Gallery to display random thumbnails in my side bar. Also using Social Links: http://blog.maybe5.com/?page_id=94 to showcase all the other bajilliondey places I am at on the net.

I need to make a page listing all the plug ins I am using someday soon!
