I tried explaining Labor Day to Aya, but she had some trouble with the concept of people who work not working for a day. However, since I had the day off, she wanted to “go somewhere and do something.” We eventually decided to take advantage of my free time today and went to the gym. Lots of the other people had the same idea. It was crowded.
With the temperatures (mid 80s), it would have been a good day to go hiking. . . if it weren’t for the wind and dry air. The winds are gusting around 30 miles per hour and the humidity is about 13%. Aya woke up with a nosebleed.
It’s better than a hurricane, though.
I planned on watching the Dirty Jobs marathon today but instead ended up leaving Star Trek: The Next Generation on as I was cooking. Made some lemon-braised salmon fillets that turned out alright. . . maybe too much lemon and sage. I also made some potato salad that Brian’s been eyeing covetously for a few hours. WAIT FOR DINNER, MAN!
In LOTRO, Alyesse’s 38th level and is starting to poke her head into Angmar. In the process of getting to 38th, I finished a box of Ferrero Rocher, which cured a chocolate craving I’ve been nursing for a week.
