014.JPGAya’s been reading more since Brian started taking her to the library, to the point that she picks out words on the screen when Brian’s playing Everquest.  Of course, now she wants to know when she’ll be allowed to start playing EQ, SWG, or LotRO.

Over the weekend, she begged to try fishing in Lord of the Rings Online.  I relented, with the caveat that she had to read me a story first.  After Aya read to me about a quintet of monkeys bumping their heads, I logged on Jaderiel and parked her in Celondim.  Aya was really good at fishing and was thrilled with all the junk loot she brought up from the docks of Celondim.

Her class got their first homework packet Monday, and Brian related that she wanted to do it all at once. (Yes, she was that bored with summer vacation..!)  Apparently Aya has been reading together with her best friend at recess.  She says it’s more fun that way.

Before school started, Aya was playing in the pool at the gym a few times a week. Now that summer is giving way to fall, she is finally comfortable enough to try swimming underwater. FINALLY.
