Sunday Reflection
Aug 24th, 2008 by Eve
I stumbled across 20 Questions You Should Ask Yourself Every Sunday early this morning. It’s worth reading - I gave it a thumbs up. This sort of reflection is something I sporadically do, but I’m going to try to make it a weekly thing. If nothing else, I’ll be able to discern where I’m stagnating.
- What did I learn last week? My daughter’s hair is long enough to put into two pigtails. And Brian doesn’t know how to put Aya’s hair in pigtails.
- What was my greatest accomplishment over the past week? Finishing what needed to be done at work under heavy time pressure.
- Which moment from last week was the most memorable and why? Watching Aya rollerskate on Saturday. She persevered, got back up after she fell on her bum, and tried again until she could do it. I was so proud of her.
- What’s the #1 thing I need to accomplish this week? Go to the gym at least three times.
- What can I do right now to make the week less stressful? Stay away from people who irritate me.
- What have I struggled with in the past that might also affect the upcoming week? Boredom and lack of motivation.
- What was last week’s biggest time sink? Going through my RSS feeds and bookmarking those I want to follow up on.
- Am I carrying any excess baggage into the week that can be dropped? No.
- What have I been avoiding that needs to get done? Scheduling dental checkups for Aya and myself.
- What opportunities are still on the table? Exercise more!
- Is there anyone I’ve been meaning to talk to? I should e-mail or write to my dad.
- Is there anyone that deserves a big ‘Thank you’? My twin, for being so supportive. Missy, for making me laugh. Mel, for being just so damn nice and level-headed and for trying to make a difference.
- How can I help someone else this coming week? Er. . . don’t know. Anyone need any help? I can help Aya get ready for school in the morning on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when Brian will be getting ready for college.
- What are my top 3 goals for the next 3 years? 1) Pay off ALL my bills. 2) Get down to a size 6. 3) Finish writing a story - any story.
- Have any of my recent actions moved me closer to my goals. Yes. Slowly but surely.
- What’s the next step for each goal? 1) Keep doing what I’m doing now. . . and Brian needs to get a job. 2) More exercise. 3) Re-outline and send to Lil.
- What am I looking forward to during the upcoming week? Watching Dr. Who Season 2 DVDs at lunch.
- What are my fears? Right now, that I’ll relapse and won’t be able to work because of it.
- What am I most grateful for? A daughter who loves me and friends who understand and accept me despite my flaws. A job that makes me laugh.
- If I knew I only had one week to live, who would I spend my time with? My daughter.
