Changing Seasons

Aya starts first grade on Monday.   This means new hours and a full day (8:30 am to 2:55 pm), eating lunch in the cafeteria, recess on the regular playground, and more field trips and homework, I’m sure.  I hope her new teachers are as inspiring as her kindergarten teacher was.

I had Brian go through her wardrobe and pull out everything that no longer fits or is too worn to wear.  (I’m aghast that she’s been going out looking like her dad dresses her… which is the case.)  It’s mostly pants that she’s outgrown; everything is capri length now.  I might get her another pair of jeans this weekend, but it’s more likely that I’ll wait until October to get her anything else.  It will be shorts weather up until then.

Although the leaves are changing now, the arrival of fall weather is always late and short here. It’s usually 100+ until late September, then it’s in the 90s until late October. We might get a week of autumn before winter arrives.
