The sky was on fire last night! Grabbed my camera while I was stuck at a stoplight and snapped this. Didn’t have time to fiddle with settings, but the colors are true — at least on this monitor. It ended up sprinkling a little bit later in the evening, just enough to turn the dust and pollen into huge, streaky spots on the car.
Long drive today — not in miles, but in hours.
It took 1.5 hours to drive to San Francisco today and 3.5 hours to drive back home. That’s my fault, since I lost track of time and we didn’t leave until 4:30 p.m. and got in line with everyone else trying to get out of the City. However, the rush hour commute headed out of San Francisco is not quite as insane as SoCal traffic jams.
The point of all that driving was that Aya has an oral report (in kindergarten! sheesh!) due Monday on sea stars. So, we took her to the Aquarium at the Bay as a sort of field trip and then wandered around Pier 39. It was cold and breezy, and the Bay was all choppy. Aya’s eyes are exactly the green-gray color of San Francisco Bay reflecting a blue sky. Lil bought us lunch at a seafood place and was, of course, the only person in our group eating seafood. More on that later.
Pictures are up at the gallery in Family > Road Trips > San Francisco 2008, but I’ll post some here later. Not now.
Tired.
