This was a photograph I took a year or so ago from the Cheesecake Factory in Sacramento. There was something horribly unnerving about the lighting fixtures:
“The Eye was rimmed with fire, but was itself glazed, yellow as a cat’s, watchful and intent, and the black slit of its pupil opened on a pit, a window into nothing.”
–J.R.R. Tolkien, Fellowship of the Ring
The food wasn’t spectacular, but I was tickled at the concept that Sauron is alive and well, even in this Age.

Cheesecake is the work of Sauron.
