If you’re going to take the time to write up something for a Play-by-Post roleplaying game or Forum RP, make it meaningful.
If your writing doesn’t set a scene, advance a storyline, describe a character, or contribute to character development, rethink why you’re sharing it on a RP forum.
Using nonsensical asides, off topic banter, smilies, cut-and-paste song lyrics, OOC drama bombs and whinges, and/or quizzes to pad your post cost does increase your visibility in the community – but not in a good way.
I think I can sum up my feelings to this in a poem by–

I agree with you soooo hard.
Slightly rewording that, I’d say “If your post doesn’t contribute to anything meaningful, rethink why you’re sharing it on a forum” and say it applies to any forums on the intarwebs.
