Little things - irresponsible parents

There’s a parent at Aya’s school who has made a habit of leaving her young children alone in a parked car in a loading zone at the school while she attends to various duties. This issue has made it to the agenda at several monthly parent meetings (… wonder why law enforcement hasn’t been contacted yet…). I do not understand at what point it seems like a good idea to lock your kids in the car and just wander off.
Apparently several parents in the other two kindergarten classes at Aya’s school aren’t paying their monthly dues, so their costs are being paid out of Aya’s class fund – and now the treasurer is talking about having to cut field trips because of the shortage.
All parents were required to sign a contract regarding the monthly dues associated with this particular school - which is more like a charter school than a regular public school. At around $30 a month, the costs aren’t prohibitive, particularly if you’ve been paying for preschool for the last two years at $100-$300/month.
FFS, if you can’t afford $30 a month to enhance your child’s education, either drop your daily cigarettes and Starbucks or put your kid in a public school that doesn’t have any extra fees. Don’t make everyone else’s kids suffer the consequences of your lack of responsibility!
