Do you wanna get rocked?

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Def Leppard have announced their first North American tour dates for 2008, covering late March and April. They’re sharing the stage with REO Speedwagon and Styx. I will be very excited to see Styx again. Their shows last summer were fantastic. As for REO Speedwagon? Meh. At least they can’t be as bad as Foreigner.
The next album (Sparkle Lounge? Songs from the Sparkle Lounge?) is supposed to be released in Spring of 2008, so it stands to reason that the supporting tour would also happen in Spring of 2008. But, still! Every time I’ve seen Def Leppard, it’s been summer or fall. Lil and I have been griping about Leppression / Lepp-down (post-concert blues) since the end of September, but I wasn’t expecting the cure so soon!
According to the official site, fan club members are supposed to get access to presale tickets two days before the general onsale dates – and that’s a joke, considering the sheer numbers of radio promotions, credit card offers, and other deals which also offer presale codes. Last year, fan club members got seriously screwed on presale seats. Even I Love All Access had pretty spotty seats. We’ll probably be going with ILAA this year again, anyway.
deflepparduk.com seems to be a little faster with the updates than the official site, announcing shows in Las Vegas (The Pearl at The Palms) on April 25 and in San Diego (Coors Amphitheater) on April 26. Both those dates have yet to be officially confirmed, and there’s no word on any Northern or Central California dates yet.
If we go to either, I think we’ll be flying, not driving.
